Teardrop pins mark located assets (a policy, a unit), rounded chips mark intel (a monitored point), so a glance separates a property from an observation. Every marker is solid with a white keyline, so it holds on any terrain, and escalation evolves the glyph inside rather than swapping the marker.

Monitoring lives on a chip, assignment lives on a pin. The marker shape stays constant while the glyph and fill inside advance through each stage.

Construction
24 px grid, tip at 12,21 for pins. Pin = asset, chip (5 px radius) = intel. Solid fill, 1.5 px white keyline on all. Glyphs sit in white inside the marker. Escalate by glyph and fill, never by size.
Overlay & stacking
Loss X pin sits on top of the survey pin. The white keyline separates any stack. Buffers render beneath points. Engine buffers beneath response units.

Five Dedicated-Service status icons (60-day access, QC, historical states) collapse into a single Surveyed pin. The unpleasant-interaction icon and redundant grey states drop off the map. Threat sizing stops scaling by size. Net: roughly a third fewer symbols on a busy fire, and no two icons that mean the same thing.
